Mare Nostrum

360 Minutes Art Volume 4 Exhibition, 2015 Gdańsk

What is “360 minute art” exhibition?

The artists show their works for exactly 360 minutes. Pictures will be shown neither before nor after the exhibition, but only within this strictly fixed time period.

A big red digital clock shows the minutes passing by. Once the clock has counted down to zero, all artworks which have not found a buyer are taken down and burned in a fire in the yard.

All the people who come together there within those 360 minutes go through a unique experience that is not repeatable.

The art of “Mare Nostrum”

“Mare Nostrum” is a Triptych of original artworks created by artists Igor Posavec and Sven Sauer (SA-PO). In our works we develop illusions that put the viewer’s perception to the test.

This series were exclusively created for the 360 Minutes of Art Exhibition in Gdańsk, Poland. Their multidimensional appearance is both material and symbolic: we look at the deep water which both reflects and hides the cruel appearances from the reality. All images are created on multi-layer-glass pannels, creating an physical feeling of depth and paralax.
